Before I came to Christ I was angered more easily, had a pessimistic view on life, cared more about how others thought of me, and didn’t feel happy. I felt pressure to do my best and because of that, I didn’t do my best. I was critical of other people’s actions because I was insecure myself. My coming to Christ was a result of many church activities and events. I remember during one church service, Pastor Jordan showed us a clip of Gollum, from the Lord of the Rings, arguing with himself. I learned everyone struggles with themselves and the enemy is always at work.

While helping with Vacation Bible School I learned to love everyone, this reminded me of when I attended Vacation Bible School at another alliance church when I was six, I may not remember the scripture verses that I learned and the songs that I sang but that positive experience stayed with me. Before my Dad came to Christ, he raised my sibling and I to be atheists. But when he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, it was like he opened a door for me with a sign that stated, this is the better life.

During the Youth Xtreme Camp I learned that God has a plan, man has problem, and the choice is up to you. Sukka! These experiences and many others helped me grow in Christ and led me to accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior and impacted my decision to get baptized. Coming to Christ changed me, I became angered less easily because I felt the power of God in me and didn’t believe kids at school, during sixth grade, taunting me, calling me gay and pantsing me for example, was a big deal anymore I now base my worth on God. After I came to Christ I was pantsed and I even thought it was funny, maybe a little. I felt a more positive view on life because I felt freedom knowing God was at my side and didn’t feel pressure to do my best, rather I now feel motivated to do my best because I now follow God’s way rather than the World’s way. The World’s way is to after material things like money and power in an attempt to become happy. God really changed my perspective on life and that mad a huge difference to me. My bible verse that I have chosen to share is Matthew 19 verse 25-26. Which states, “Again I tell you it is hard for a camel to go through the eye of a needle. But it is even harder for the rich to enter God’s kingdom. When the disciples heard this, they were really amazed. They asked, then who can be saved, Jesus looked at them and said, with man, that is impossible. But with God all things are possible. It was impossible for me to change, but with God it was possible, that reminds me of how Gollum was able to get rid of the bad things in his life.
